Angelique James

Youth and Creative Projects Assistant

Angelique James is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with an Honours BSocSc in Political Science and a Second Language Certificate in French. As a bilingual emerging leader, Angelique is deeply passionate about equity, Black representation, and youth empowerment. Her early advocacy began in high school, where she co-founded a Black-led representation group and helped organize the Black Youth Forum.

Now serving as a Youth and Creative Projects Assistant at CWCLN, Angelique contributes to youth-centered initiatives through logistical support, material preparation, event setup, and coordination of creative engagement activities. She brings a collaborative spirit to the team, assisting with workshop delivery, meetings, and hands-on programming that uplifts young voices. Angelique regularly checks in with CWCLN’s leadership team to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals and priorities.

In addition to her work with youth programs, Angelique has previous experience supporting healthcare and community initiatives. She is passionate about continuing her education in law, with a focus on justice, governance, and inclusive leadership. Her commitment to transformative change and creative community-building makes her an integral part of the CWCLN team.
