Victoria Sendanyoye is a math tutor and university student based on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin nation (Ottawa, ON). She has many passions in the arts and sciences, and loves to share her knowledge as well as learn from others, as she believes in bidirectional learning. In 2015, she was diagnosed with a life-changing mental illness and has first-hand lived experience with the battles and struggles of navigating the mental health care system as well as with the illness itself day-to-day. This is what brought her into the folds of peer support, where she can validate and affirm others in their own healing journeys from mental illness, racial trauma, and intergenerational trauma. She believes in the power of community-building to fight stigma and oppression, and to create a better world where no one is left in the margins.
