Sophia Jacob is the visionary founder of the Canadian Women of Colour Leadership Network and a dynamic strategist who builds bridges between entrepreneurship, equity, and collective wellness for racialized women and non-binary leaders.
Sophia believes that leadership begins with visibility—and that systemic change happens when racialized women and non-binary people are not only invited to the table, but empowered to design it. As a founder, strategist, and connector, she blends practical business acumen with deep community insight to create spaces where collaboration, equity, and innovation thrive. Her work is rooted in the conviction that networking is power, mentorship is transformation, and wellness is essential to sustainable leadership.
Sophia Jacob is the founder of the Canadian Women of Colour Leadership Network (CWCLN), established in 2018 to increase representation of racialized women and non-binary people in boardrooms, C-suites, and decision-making roles across sectors. Under her leadership, CWCLN delivers mentorship programs, post-graduation career support, leadership training, and monthly sacred conversation circles—safe spaces for healing, dialogue, and mutual care.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Sophia is President of Sophia J Events, a full-service marketing and event firm supporting small businesses and mission-driven organizations with brand strategy, PR, social media, logistics, and B2B partnership development.
Over the past eight years, she has also launched two impactful networks: the Ottawa Opportunities Network and the Black Ottawa Business Network, both of which host regular events connecting entrepreneurs, professionals, and changemakers across the region.
A dynamic organizer and storyteller, Sophia brings over a decade of experience turning vision into action always with an eye toward equity, sustainability, and joy.
