Black Mental Health Week Expo

During the week of March’s Black Mental Health Week, the Ottawa Black Mental Health Coalition orchestrated a dynamic Community Expo, featuring a diverse lineup of more than 25 exhibitors spotlighting social services agencies. Residents from all corners of the city congregated to participate in our Community Expo, themed around exploring joy within our community.

Canadian Women of Colour Leadership Network took advantage of the occasion to showcase our organization and educate community members about our wide range of programs and services. With exhibitors hailing from mental health and social services agencies throughout the region, catering to individuals of all ages, the event served as a hub of resources and support. Hosted by the charismatic Jacklyn St Laurent, the event featured stimulating speakers and offered an abundance of information and resources for both the public and allied professionals in our community.

The expo unfolded as an afternoon brimming with entertainment, enlightenment, and, of course, joy! Attendees were treated to engaging fireside chats, captivating West African dance performances performed and demonstrated by Kahmaria Pingue, and savored delectable Caribbean cuisine from Baccanalle.
