BIO : Andrea Byfield Pierce

 

Andrea Byfield Pierce is a serial entrepreneur and the owner of ImmigrantsCan where she practices as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Her practice specializes in family sponsorship, students and economic/businesses immigrants including startup entrepreneurs who immigrate to Canada to start and run their innovative business. ImmigrantsCAN assist with Immigration as well as Business supportive services in starting and growing their new venture in Canada.

She is known as an innovative and strategic thought leader with a track record of successfully delivering programs, portfolios and projects from information technology to infrastructure construction. She has extensive P&L and leadership experience in both U.S. and Canada. She has worked with startups through Fortune 500 companies in the United States and Canada including Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), City of San Francisco (CCSF), Bell Canada, Infrastructure Ontario (IO), and London Hydro (LH)) at the Director Level. Highlights of her accomplishments includes leading Canada’s first Green Button Implementation with MaRS DD in 2013 which garnered LH the White House invitation to participate in 2014 Energy Datapalooza highlighting innovators who are harnessing the power of data to build the clean energy economy. Andrea ideated and implemented the world’s first outage customer notification subscription system by SMS, social media, email or phone. This work garnered LH a CS Week award for innovation and is being marketed as Software as a Service and as a Managed Service to other utilities worldwide. Andrea’s work with CCSF was published as a case study in BPM Excellence in Practice, 2010 and a Finalist in the Global Awards for Excellence in Business Process Modeling (BPM). She delivered the first U.S. City implementation of President Obama Open Data initiative “Open SF” and the first Clinton Climate Initiative project delivered in 2010.

With respect to her community involvement, highlights includes her new campaign to amend the Canada Labour code and the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety codes to make Racism workplace harassment and violence. She co-founded the Black Women Entrepreneurship Hub, leading the advocacy for economic inclusion and development for the Pan-Canadian United Nations Decade for People of African Descent Undpad Push Coalition, she has led the development of the Federal Procurement Strategy for Black Owned Businesses pilot started on January 12, 2021 with accompanying Federal policy scheduled for completion by June 2021. She is a kids coach, leadership mentor and serves on several boards.
